Clinical Training & Expertise
I am an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) Double Board Certified psychiatrist in both Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry whose private practice is on the border of Irvine/Newport Beach, located close to the 73 Freeway.
Prior to establishing my practice here in Irvine in 2010, I completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Stanford University. At Stanford, my training exposure was both broad and in-depth, as I trained and studied with experts in the field of psychiatry. I was able to hone my treatment approach and develop my patient skills in a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses, such as ADHD, depressive & anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and pervasive developmental disorders including autism and Aspergers.
Before learning to treat children, I completed my adult psychiatry training at a small yet nationally renown program at San Mateo County Medical Center for my adult psychiatric residency and graduated from medical school from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. While in training, I was recognized by both the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) for my accomplishments in the field of psychiatry.
I also have expertise in the areas of adolescent/young adult & cross cultural mental health, have served on the APA Committee of Asian American Psychiatrists, Council of Minority Mental Health and Health Disparities, the Executive Council of the Orange County Psychiatric Society, and was founder and chair of the Orange County Psychiatric Society’s Asian American Issues Committee.
